Hannah Joy Miller

Hannah Joy (she/her) was fortunate to find her practice during her difficult teenage years in 2012 in her hometown of Michigan. After an injury ended her sports career, finding meditation and yoga was saving grace as it became a way to manage her emotions, find a new discipline through breath and movement, and a deeper connection and understanding to herself. She found a daily practice instantly and enrolled in her 200 Yoga Teacher Training in 2015 under Johnny Kest in Detroit, MI. Shortly after, she moved to Denver and found herself continuing her education to become a certified National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist. Her passion for health and helping others reach their full potential led to her fully embedded in fitness and yoga teaching in an array of classes from yoga, kickboxing, group fitness, and climbing, working with beginners to high-level athletes. Hannah Joy found The River in May 2021 and found a studio that felt like home for the first time since being in Colorado. In the past 3 years, her focus and studies have dove deep into the science of breathwork.

Hannah Joy utilizes her experience as a trainer to create classes focused on functional movement, how to breathe properly, and the balance between effort and recovery. Her classes will empower you to be playful and curious in your practice while challenging you to meet your edge. You can expect moments of free flow, creative transitions, and breathwork to deepen your connection to the present moment. Outside of the studio, you can find her traveling in her van, working music and art festivals, and playing or painting outside in the mountains.
