Alex discovered her love of yoga over 10 years ago. She was drawn in by the compassion, community, and freedom that accompanied the practice. Alex is a 500 hour registered yoga teacher, and has completed much of her training at The River Yoga. Her teaching style is raw, fluid, and sweetly challenging- showcasing an array of teaching formats from vinyasa, restorative, yin, buti, and more. Her classes aim to create an experience- allowing students to feel embodied while accessing joy and creativity. Alex has a background in Leave No Trace education and wilderness guiding. Outside of teaching at The River, Alex is the founder of Primal Awakening, a Colorado based company offering retreats focused on nature and yoga. Off her mat, you can find Alex traveling or camping in the backcountry with her friends

Andy is a lifelong Colorado resident and has been practicing yoga for 16 years and teaching for 12 years. He began his practice to serve as a supplement to his many other activities like hiking, skiing, and mountain biking, but soon realized the many other benefits of a yoga practice. Andy is a certified 500 hour instructor and his classes could be described as creative, empowering, and fun. He also has an affinity for teaching to the softer side of yoga with practices like yin and breathwork. He has loved exploring many different types of yoga over the years and loves to share his passion for yoga in his classes. He loves the aspect of community in yoga and in life. When Andy isn't teaching yoga he loves to spend time in the Colorado outdoors, attend live music, travel, practice banjo, and spend time with friends and family.
