The River Yoga Immersion: A Deep Dive into Yoga

The River Immersion is an enlightening experience for students to dive deeper into the study, practice and philosophy of yoga. Gathering over the course of this month-long program, we explore the ancient, 8 Limb Path and steep ourselves in the diverse physical, mental and spiritual layers of yoga.

Requirements + How to Prepare

There are no specific prerequisites (6 months of yoga experience is encouraged). This program is designed for both students and teachers of yoga. Anyone who is ready to immerse themselves in a deeper understanding of this profound practice would benefit greatly from this program.

The training will take place from July 13th to August 14th.

  • Five Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30-8 pm: July 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29, August 3,5, 10 and 12
  • Three Saturdays 9 am-3 pm: July 17, 31, and August 14

How do I know if I am ready?

Curiosity is an indication that you are ready. There are no pre-requisites for The Immersion. We do recommend some time on your mat, as there is a physical component to our time together. Perhaps 6 months of regular practice would be an indicator of physical readiness.

Will the time together be like? Will it be hours and hours of practicing? Will it mostly be lectures?

Each Wednesday night will have a public class practice. In addition to that, we will breakdown postures, find good anatomical alignment, and understand the subtle body alignment in many common poses. We will also have a short but sweet book club “meeting.” (Book TBD)

On the weekends, there will be a group practice, as well as lecture, discussions, and time for personal digestion and application of material. The longer days will ask the mind, body, and spirit to be present.

What if I have to miss a half day or arrive a little late one day? Do I have to complete every single hour to participate? Can I drop in to just one weekend?

Participation in The River Immersion is intended to be a 100% enrollment opportunity. However, life happens. The immersion is 50 hours together- if you need to miss less than 10% of the time together, you will catch up with the group quickly. If you have to miss more than 10%, this may not be the best round for you. The content will build on each weekend, be specifically crafted to help the individuals enrolled grow, and will be intuitively adjusted to meet the group’s needs. For that reason, drop-ins to individual weekends will not be offered.

Do you offer payment plans?

The deposit for this immersion is $250. The remaining balance will be paid on the first day of the immersion. If you would benefit from a payment plan, your tuition will be due in full by the last day of the immersion. We do charge a $50 administrative fee to offer a payment plan.

Balance must be paid in full but the first day of the program. To help make the course affordable, we have payment plan options at a $50 fee. Please email so we can create the best plan for you.

500 Hour RYT

Marisa believes the ancient teachings of yoga can help us navigate the messiness of being human. She has learned that a yoga class is a medium where we can practice equanimity, presence, and resilience in a familiar environment so that when we step off of the mat those qualities become second nature. In her class, you can expect to sweat, BREATHE, and find your edge.

What River value do you live by? The River value I live by is community. Everything becomes a little easier when we do it together. The more people willing to lift the load, the lighter it becomes.
